Brighton Permaculture Trust runs a variety of courses from hands-on gardening to a diploma in permaculture design. We also hold special events such as Green Architecture Day.

An Evening with Roberto Perez

Illustrated talk + film

The film The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil will be followed by an illustrated talk by Roberto Perez, who is featured in the film and is a permaculture expert working for a Cuban NGO.

These courses introduce the basics of Permaculture and show how this approach can be applied. 

Pruning old fruit trees

Two-day course
Course 1: 10-11 January 2009
Course 2: 13-14 January 2009

This hands-on course teaches how to improve the health and productivity of old fruit trees by appropriate pruning. 

Growing own-root fruit trees

A two-day course
21-22 February 2009

Learn how to propagate and grow fruit trees without grafting.

Building sustainable communities,
a permaculture design course

12 weekend days

The course looks at eco-systems designed for working and living collaboratively with other people whilst caring for the earth. This course is only open to people who have attended an Introduction to permaculture design course.
